RICHARD GORODECKY

Richard Gorodecky is a writer, filmmaker, creative director and an incurable trout bum. He learnt his craft as a storyteller while working in advertising, and his work has earned various meaningless awards and a place in the permanent collection of the Museum of Art and Design in Hamburg.

As well as commercials, Richard has written and directed fiction and documentary. His film
The River Man received the unprecedented accolade (for a short film) of Critics Choice from the Sunday Times newspaper. And his film Little Shit was awarded Best British Film at the London Short Film Festival, and nominated for Best British/Irish Short Film at the London Critics’ Circle.

His writings and ramblings have been published in various journals and magazines, including
Waterlog, Fallon’s Angler and Creative Review. He was also once the guest presenter on America’s Next Top Model and has absolutely no idea why.

Richard now lives and becomes increasingly feral in the Knockmealdown Mountains, within spitting distance of some of Ireland’s greatest fly-fishing rivers, with his long-suffering wife, three chickens and two cats.

Throwing Feathers in the Wind is Richard's first Medlar book.
