Delivery
We usually have all current titles in stock for immediate despatch via Royal Mail, and your order will normally be with you within 5-7 working days. However, as our limited edition books are hand-bound this may not always be possible, and in this event we will inform you of any delay in delivery. For UK orders a charge of £3.00 is made for postage and packing. Overseas postage will be sent airmail. If you are ordering from overseas, please add the required postage supplement to the quoted price of the book. The postage price to Europe is £5.50 and for the Rest of the World £15.00. Please note that overseas postage charges are under review and it may be necessary to amend these charges with an incremental charge per book. If you wish to make an order for multiple books from overseas and would like us to look into postage options that may be cheaper than airmail, please email your request to books@medlarpress.com. If you require a book urgently please call our office on 01691 623225 (we can normally offer a Special Delivery option for an additional charge of £3.50).

Reserving Copies of Books
It is not necessary to send money in advance to reserve a copy of any forthcoming title. Simply reserve online, by telephone or e-mail, or confirm your interest by post. We will then reserve a copy, and will contact you on publication to let you know that the title is available to order online. (In the case of limited editions we may request payment details in advance by phone but such payments will not be debited or banked until the book is ready for despatch.) Please note that in the case of hand-numbered limited editions we allocate numbers in the order in which requests are received.

GOOGLE CHROME CHECKOUT PROBLEMS - Unfortunately we are finding that customers using Google Chrome are having problems at checkout on our site - and are repeatedly asked for a shipping address. We will work on this issue, as we believe that Chrome have issued some patches to rectify this type of problem, but for the moment would ask customers to use an alternative browser - eg, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Shopping using a card has now become an accepted way to pay for goods or services. We are all comfortable with handing our card to a shop assistant or waiter, or giving our card details to someone on the other end of the telephone.

Many people, however, are still uneasy about putting card details into a website, as they are not sure what is happening to the information they are submitting or where it is going.

When you shop with the Medlar Press, who uses SECPay, you can be assured that your card details are securely encrypted during transport over the Internet so no one can read your card information. The card details are only transported to a Bank to authorise your purchase.

SECPay guarantees that they will never: Pass on your financial details

  • Pass on any personal information gathered when you place an order
  • Sell or rent your details, you will never receive junk mail as a result of using SECPay
  • Leave invasive technologies such as cookies on your machine
  • Exploit your details in any way
