The Stone-Walker Letters
Peter Stone

In 1952 ‘a chap named Walker’ caught a 40lb carp and became, from then on, a major influence in the life of Peter Stone. From their first meeting in 1956, they exchanged letters and became great friends until Richard Walker’s death in 1985. Peter kept all his letters from Walker, and in the 1980s put them together with a running commentary to form this book. Peter said that he intended this book to be ‘a personal tribute to Dick’. It is certainly that, but it is also a window on to a great friendship between arguably two of the most influential anglers of the twentieth century; and, of course, an opportunity to hear the voice again of that much loved and much missed of all-round anglers, Peter Stone.
