The author’s own, often controversial, views on fishing with the so-called dry fly. The Floating Fly deals only with imitating winged insects that are floating on or in the water surface in exactly the same way that real flies do. It is perhaps no coincidence that Halford, the father of the dry fly, also named his first book The Floating Fly.
